This is a great opportunity. However, AutoDesk and Inventor seem to only be available for Windows computers unless I am missing something.

Falcon will work with Macintosh, but it seems only with AutoCAD software.

Will there be any tutorials for AutoCAD software so it can be used on a Macintosh?

Thanks

Hi

To run Boot Camp, one has to also purchase and support Windows. We have at least 50+ students interested in the program so this can get quite expensive and our IT department understandably does not want to support two OS platforms.

AutoCAD runs natively on both Windows and Mac, so some tutorials would be great for AutoCAD.

I found some resources. They aren't great but this is what I have so far:

Hi-

We received the School Site License for AutoCAD. However, it seems to be network/server licensed based and administered. Can you verify that this is correct? Can it only be used at school?

Cheers,

Jesse

Hi Jesse - good questions. As with many of the main CAD solutions running on Mac OS is a challenge if not impossible, Have you investigated running Inventor using boot camp? Autodesk have support for this - http://usa.autodesk....atible-products . Let us know how you get on...

Hi Jesse, I've been looking at Fusion 360. This is the way forward I think and it runs on Mac OS - check it out maybe...

Hi Zakiya,

The only programs required for the F1 in Schools project are:

Inventor Professional - 3D CAD design

Autodesk Flow Design - Virtual Wind Tunnel

Autodesk Showcase - Photo-realistic Renders

The tutorials support the use of these programs.

Hi Lindsay. Once you have Fusion 360, get the students onto the tutorials mentioned above, start with beginner.

You will also notice above a software called Flo Design Mentioned - this is used for the virtual wind tunnel testing. There are also F1 in Schools tutorials for this.
