DESIGN - MAKE - RACE AT THE ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX!

Design a Formula 1 model race car, submit your design for a chance to be selected for the Top 20 Race Off at the FORMULA 1 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX.

The F1 in Schools STEM Challenge is a global competition that uses the magnetic appeal of Formula 1 to deliver comprehensive STEM learning through a 21^st Century Skills project based learning approach. 

F1 in Schools Al Dhafra Challenge  - is a special edition of the F1 in Schools Test Driver Challenge only for individual students attending schools in the Abu Dhabi Al Dhafra region. Entry is free and open to students aged 12 - 16. Follow the steps and tutorials to design your F1 in Schools car using Fusion 360 CAD software. Complete the mini project portfolio. Upload your finished car design and portfolio by the due date. The students with the 20 best projects will have their designs manufactured free of charge by Yas in Schools, and will be invited to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend for a Top 20 Race Off on the F1 in Schools Track.

STEP 4 - Design your own F1 in Schools Car around the Test Driver Template

STEP 5 - Complete the Al Dhafra Challenge Mini Portfolio

STEP 6 - Submit your F1 in Schools Car Design and completed Portfolio by 8pm Friday October 21, 20

The F1 in Schools Al Dhafra Challenge is only available to:

• Students enrolled in schools located in the Abu Dhabi Al Dhafra Region
• Students who are aged 12 - 16 years old on November 18, 2022
• Individual students only, no teams or dual entries with friends / family

STEP 2 - GET FUSION 360 DESIGN SOFTWARE

Before you can start working on your F1 in Schools car design, you will need to get CAD (Computer Aided Design) software. For this challenge you must use Autodesk Fusion 360. We recommend that you download and install the 30 Day Trail version. Later, if you want to continue with more design work, you can apply for an Autodesk Education subscription through your school or access the free personal account.
